  • My name is Steven. I'm 28; I'm a visual artist. I write a weekly arts review column in Winnipeg, where I also teach university (I've written and taught in other places, too). I'm from Tampa, Florida and before I moved to Winnipeg, I went to school in Baltimore and Windsor. This blog is for things I'm working on and things that interest me.

Fight (2002)
Acrylic gesso and ink on illustration board.
The black dashes on the right thigh are a jailhouse tattoo I’d just given myself with in and an X-acto knife. I got a real tattoo over it a couple years later. I think this drawing is in my studio now, weirdly (most of my really old stuff is in a storage unit in southern Ohio, just as weirdly).
